Avon 6M Project Boat - fuel tank installation

So I'm new to the forum, but I've read several of the posts and am excited to start on my new project. There is alot of good knowledge out there, so I'm hoping for some advice.

Just boat this Avon 6m Searider... and didn't pay much. I have big plans to include the following:

Below deck fuel tank
new center console
new motor (had twins, but want to put on a single 150 - 200hp?)
new electronics
new "deck Furniture" to include an anchor locker in the bow, and storage aft

For my first step (aside from removing the remnants of the old tube), I would like to install an aluminum tank below deck. I have an idea to have it centered more towards the bow along the centerline. Are there any suggestions before I cut some exploratory holes, and go at this with the saw? Also, I know the boat has a "deck beam" right down the centerline. I assume that I'm going to have to build a support box for the tank, in order to keep the integrity of the hull...

Here's a picture, more to follow

You're also going to need to protect the tank: Zinc chromate primer (probably a few coats), followed by a few coats of some sort of epoxy paint.

jky - Thanks for the tip. I just received a quote from a tank manufacturer, and they mentioned a coating comes with the tank. Didn't know what they were referring to, but now I do!
