Anyone beat 5 powerboaters in the family?

I am pleased to say that my wife and 3rd child passed their PB2 at the weekend.

Added to me and my first two kids that is 5 qualified drivers in the family now. That's the good news, the bad news is I'll never get a look in at the helm!

Congratulations to all of you! It's great when the whole family can share a hobby.

Out of interest, how old are your children and how old were they when you started them in the RIB (or any boat, for that matter)?

P.S. Can't beat your record - only 2 qualified powerboaters in this family but our 2 year old has his own sailing dinghy (can't sail it yet, mind!) so hopefully he'll grow up with a love of boats.

I've got 6 kids. 21 to 5. The 21, 19 and 17 yr olds are qualified they all started about 5 years ago. The smaller ones have been coming out since they were little. The 7 year old loves it but the 5 year old does not like the wind in his face when we go fast.

Yep, if there are a number of us, we take turns, one does the launch and out the harbour, then one for the cruise and into harbour the other end. Then the others share the return.

The best whizz though, is to go out when they are otherwise engauged, football, rugby, girlfriends .... then I get to play all on my own bliss
