Advice please..

Just took delivery of my first RIB yesterday and have started looking at kitting it out with safety equipment. I need a GPS system and VHF Radio, already got a fishfinder and compass. Eventually I want to buy a Gecko helmet so the radio would need to be compatible with that. Both are to be mounted on the console. Any advice on a particular make, suppliers and rough prices please?

I am also looking to insure the boat so can anyone advise on a reputable company to speak to?

Joe

What fishfinder do you have? I'd sell that on and buy a Garmin 178 combination-there's excellent prices on them at the moment. It'll save you some space on your console.

I use craftinsure.com-they do a monthly payment option charged to your card which is quite handy.
Read the small print on security CAREFULLY before accepting a quote. Some insist the trailer is chained to an immovable object when not towing which isn't realistic a lot of the time.

Bigj - I'm biased, because I sell them, but I would reccomend Standard Horizon gear. I may be biased, but I have found it to be more rugged, durable, and better value for money than the competition.

I would be happy to quote you for all the gear you require, and guarantee to offer a price below the RRP.

Matt

What sort of policies are about? Is there a bog standard policy like TPF&T as in cars that most people have or is it best to go for a comprehensive type policy?

It's only costing me £240 a year for fully comp so I didn't bother looking for TPFT. There's cheaper than that as well.
