Advice on a 2004 Ribcraft please.....

Ive a chap wanting to PX his Ribcraft ( link here https://www.findafishingboat.com/ribcraft-7-5/ad-105890

Against my current Rib.

The engine now is 2003 not 2004

He’s trying to get proof of the hrs ( 280 ish )

There are a few things come to light such as a few rips in upholstery, a gauge not working, a small bit of fraying to inside rear of tube, covers not brilliant, trailer wheels look a little tired, looks a nice boat but since we’d agreed a deal in principal these few things have come to light....

Are/is a 2003 Suzuki DF250 any good ? I assume though he’s got the year wrong by just a year the value wont be dramatically less ?

Is there an easy way to age the Rib itself ?

Its hull number is;

GB-RIB00107A404

Any info/advice greatly appreciated

TIA

IIRC the last 2 digits of the HIN number are the year, so 04 sounds right. The engine could well be a 2003, but that will be the manufacture year not the installation /commissioning year, so the warranty would have run from 04. E.g. my Suzuki is a 2013, but I purchased it brand new in 2015 & that’s when it was installed /commissioned/warranted from. In my case, the 2013 engine was identical to a 2015 engine, apart from the price. To be fair, the price looks reasonable for that boat, assuming there are no nasty surprises lurking beneath.

Northern chap, do you have access to Facebook?

There are some comments on the Ribcraft Owners Group concerning a boat which I believe could be the vessel you are referring to.

See the admin’s last post...

I’ve seen this boat for sale in Ireland, just wondering was there any further information available? I could not follow any of the links. Genuinely interested. Would be very grateful for anything further on this topic. Thanks

You might have to join the group.

If that works you could try following the Facebook link and scrolling back to the date of the post.

Thanks guyc
I joined the group tried all the links, but nothing working I’m afraid. I’m interested in making an offer on this boat but a little apprehensive after seeing this forum. Thanks for the response
