Acrylic Windscreen?

Hi,
Im looking at putting a small windshield on my Avon 3.45
I have looked at Nugent's post about making them.
I dont know what mm of Acrylic to use as it is will be on a curve and the ones nugent was making were square.
Would 3mm acrylic do the job?

here is an image of what i want the screen to look like!

See if you can go with polycarbonate. Lots stronger.

Takes a bit of pretreating to heat form it, though, to avoid water vapor from bubbling within the material. Generally this means having a professional shop do the forming.

You could make a replica screen for the 3.45 out of 3mm polycarb. It won't need heating to form it, as 3mm is flexible enough to take the required shape and be retained by the fixing screws. Use some cardboard as a template.
If you ever climb onto the foredeck though, don't put any weight on the screen or it will break - guaranteed.

sorry guys been busy,
as Downhillda states 3-4mm will pull around a slight curve with ease,
what size acrylic are u after sure i can assist for some beer tokens

or with some patience and 5-6mm poly-carb unbreakable some excellent results can be obtained

Hi charlie,
I decided against making one in the end, as my one never had a screen to start with!
However nugents advice is the best you will find!
