Getting near to the end of the iPhone shots;

Approach to tower bridge lifted, we could not go through centre arch.

Royal barge, too close so no pic of HRH just the hat!

Shot from my cousins window in Chelsea.

We were getting a bit cold by now the return to west india was at the end of a long day 65 people were treated for the effects of exposure only one kept in hospital.

Some randoms from the day;

Mooring bollards at West India; comes in black, white and grey (not pictured) there was something quite fullfilling about the shape.

Post Pageant nosh up, we were so late in finishing they kept some back for us. The two ladies taken off our boat by lifeboat warmed up and re-joined us later.

All in all a very good day with just the bit at the end that could have gone more smoothly. I'll get some more pics when we do a share on thu night.

We had a bouy on the A frame used to fend off during lockout but left in place for deck space, somone did mention a rib with a "pink hat" not sure if that was us or not? There was some pretty dodgy seamanship exhibitted by some in our section, clearly not us! Lifeboatmen very efficient, lock operators and Docklands Scout Project were peerless and had the patience of the gods.

Fantastic pics of the event and to actually have been there on the Thames with all the other boats is something you will remember and cherish for the rest of your lives.

Last few;
  1. Better pic of Vixen
  2. Barges leaving West India lock
  3. Bridge lifted at West India
  4. Barge exitting lock to thames
  5. Us again
Apparently the coverage from the Beeb has not been widely acclaimed the coverage of our section Recreational Motor Boats was supposedly dire, not seen it yet so dont know.

Still an excellent day, back to more mundane activities.

When I untied that boat from your towing eye at the lock my hands touched the water and it was very warm, I thought at the time that the engine was pumping out warm water. When we got back to Putney I put my hand in the water again to grab a rope and again the water felt about the same, really warm, almost like bath water. It was then I realised that I was very cold.
