Stop the weed

Hi My RIBs in the water through the summer I have a problem with weed growing on the bits of the outboard that are immersed Im told you can get a bag that fits over the bottom that you fill with fresh water to stop this
Where can I buy and does it work?

Laurie, welcome, if you cant do as jambo suggests perhaps because of the risk of leg / prop damage from other users then I'd have thought any very thick bag would go a long way yo stop it. Pulled tight around the top keeping light out should make it very hard for any green stuff to grow without photosynthesis. I'd be surprised if you needed to muck about with fresh water.

Alternatively just use it a lot!

Thanks Jambo

The club insist I keep the outboard down as my RIB protrudes from the pontoon and could cause damage Its all rather confined
I have been told outboard bags are often seen across the channel Has anyone have knowledge of this?

Kind regards

Laurie
