round the Isle of Wight

Hi Just got round to joining up with you Ribbsters (yesterday) me and my good Lady were thinking of circumnavigateing the Isle of Wight this Saturday "weather permitting"As we are form the Midlands and usually head north, to bonny Scotland, I wonder if anyone knows the best place to launch and if we need to pay any habour fees. Any other tips would be much appreciated.

Hi there, we did it with a few ribnet members this year, really good fun and well worth it.

Lunched from crosshouse slipway but you could try Calshot or Lymington.

I studied charts and my GPS but in the end I took along 9 other ribs for support.... Welcome to ribnet

Here's the video.......

Check this video out, this was three days after my farther's funeral, I could hardly draw in a breath, let alone anything else.

But my mates came through for me and the sun always shines on the righteous

Hi Jason
Hope you got round to seeing yourselves on the Easdale video.http://www.rib.net/forum/f18/easdale...-45810-12.html

It's the IOW festival next weekend so if you want an interesting night out take the sleeping bags and go up the Medina as far as you can and listen to the music for free!

Crosshouse slip under the Itchen Bridge (Southampton) is wide and free to launch and cheap parking, but if you're bringing the camper van maybe call MDL at Hamble Point Marina and see what they would charge for using the slip and staying the night in their car park. The facilities are OK and you can eat at the Ketch at the marina.
I hope to be out on Saturday - probably staying out overnight on the boat at the festival so maybe see you around on the Solent?

Trev
