Hi all

I have have a small rib (2.7) from Ebay! and have managed to find a suitable trailer. and a 9.8 2s Tohatsu engine.

Hoping to take it to the beach for nephews etc to use. As we will be on Anglesey in August can anyone advise on places to launch etc. We will be staying at Rhosneiger what is the situation re driving on the beach for the launch etc. Is it possible to get a tow and if so how much would one expect to pay. Not really happy to take car on sand!

Finally any idea how fast I should expect this thing to go. I am expecting it to get on a plane but not sure what the actual speed possible is with such a small boat.

Thanks in advance for any information / advice.

Mike

Yes, it's a RIB and it's rated for 10hp.

It'll feckin' fly with that Toohotsue. I reckon she'll make 16-18kts, 1 up.

I'm a bit jealous

Welcome to RIBnet Mike, nice rig!

If you have yet to fire the engine, be aware that they don't like much/any choke if the weather is warm. If you don't have a tiller extension, I'd suggest getting/borrowing one.
