New used XS Ribs 650 owner :)

Hi folks,

Just bought myself a fully coded (cat 3 & 4) 2007 XS 650 with a Yamaha F150.

Overall I'm really impressed with the boat so far and it's in brilliant condition for it's age!

Not so impressed with the Yamaha F150 at the moment. Seems to be having a few issues. Not running as well as it should be and now it's started to overheat and go into limp mode when running at full speed. Have taken her out of the water now to investigate!

Speaking to XS Ribs they reckon the boat with this engine should be going 40-42knts flat out. All I can get out of her on a flat calm day with this outboard is 35knts tops! Engine isn't revving to it's top end either it's still 600rpm off the top end.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Craig

Welcome to Ribnet

Sort out the overheating issue first-that might well be the cause.

If not, it's time to start looking at your prop pitch.
