New member saying “Hi”

Hi all,

I’ve just joined this forum, but have been lurking in the background for quite a long time. I’ve been involved with boats since I was a kid (yachts back then) based in the Menai Straits. Now 30 years later, I simply don’t have the free time for sailboats (and couldn’t afford to more one where I want to use it!), so have moved on to RIBs. I live in Stockport, but I currently have a Zodiac Medline 1 with a ETEC 75 that I keep in southern France, where I reckon it’s the perfect boat; stable and seaworthy, comfortable and small enough to tow back to the house and stick in the garage.

I can’t say that the Etec has been exactly trouble-free, but when it works it is ideal for the hull (and when it doesn’t, the Tohatsu 3.5hp comes out of the aft locker!). The upside is that I’m now pretty handy at fixing ETEC’s if anyone needs a hand!
