I finally found time to say hello!

Bought 1st RIB last year and had an awesome time with it cruising and diving around Cornwall North Coast; based at Padstow. This summer moved to River Fal area; much more boat friendly with a greater number of places to visit and explore. Crossed over to Scilly Isles twice last year and once this year and had a day out around Anglesey. RIB ownership has lived up to, and exceeded, my expectations, not everything in life does, I am a very happy RIB owner at present.
So looking for more adventure and would love to spend several weeks cruising, and perhaps a bit of diving, around the Islands of Scotland. Any advice would be very welcome.

Find a base on the mainland that suits you, accessing the sheltered waters inside Jura - you'll not go wrong. Anywhere from Tayvallich to Oban is legend.

Thanks for the recommendation willk.

Had a Google maps gad about and it sure looks an intriguing area. Added bonus of the diving facilities at Oban makes this a very attractive option. Thinking of heading up there early summer, maybe 1st week in June. Any views on the best time of year to go?

Point of note,

The schools end up for summer a few weeks earlier than England, normally start of July and as you can imagine accommodation prices reflect this.

Avoid June-August unless you like being eaten alive
