Needing advice

Can i firstly say hello to the community HELLO!
I'm needing some advice in totally new to this I've bought a 3m inflatable dinghy and a 4hp 2 stroke outboard,
Do I need to register this and how do I go about registering it and getting the reg number eg. RW123456 if someone could assist me with this it would be most helpful and also do I need a licence?

Welcome to Ribnet. The forum is a fantastic resource & repository of information. The use of the search function will throw up some useful reading.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

There is no general requirement to register a boat or get a licence for yourself on the sea but most inland canals/rivers and some lakes/lochs require a registration fee (usually no “driving” licence though). Also some slipways into the sea that are managed charge a fee and ask for proof of insurance... and there are a few that ask for a certain certificate of competence but they are rare.

Where do you intend to use the boat?
