I guess you are waiting for a silver bullet way of mounting these so they dont foul the steering or the tube, but from your thread pictures I dont see a way. I will say i'm new to sibs and not yet fitted my wheels, but looking it seems if you dont foul the tube then the tiller suffers. How easy is it to remove the wheels and legs after launch? Or maybe as I saw elsewhere someone had a pole or bracket to hold the wheels at 45 deg from vertical when at sea. Hopefully someone with more experience will jump in and help you as I guess you are gagging to get on and fit them, good luck!

Hi

Yes im afraid this is what we are faced with when you buy imported Junk

Time the country was tooled up and quality equipment was made instead of substandard engineering

Kind regards

Well that's a far bigger topic than just getting your wheels to fit which in truth is down to dimensions rather than politics.

So some ideas... Do you need the wheels to flip up or could you use these or another make where you just take them off after launch and back to the house/car? As Oldman2 mentions.

Also depending on the surfaces you launch from would smaller wheels/tyres on the same legs clear the tubes?

And finally there are two lengths of that leg type. If you have the shorter the longer one may allow the wheel to swing behind rather than beside the tube.

The leg length options in this make are 56cm and 77cm... wonder which you have?

It's odd because the Honwave/Trem ones I bought with my 3.5 were a perfect fit with the paper template . They were a squeeze raising them past the tubes but the fitting was spot on and never fouled the 20 I had on. I even welded 4" handles on them to make life easier . Click image for larger version

I never thought buying a PVC boat would be so much hassle

Bending over these things for 6 hours really done my back good

I did what most folk do i pressed the buttons when ordering for wheels what is suppose to fit

Kind regards

Hi forum

Ive asked the dealer for the longer version ones so i will miss the tubes

I will keep you informed so others whom encounter this will know

Kind regards

Well if that's about how they measure the leg then you seem to have the shorter ones... unless the maker's leg length spec includes the wheel or wheel & tyre?

If yours are the shorter type then if you had the longer ones with an extra 21cm do you think that would clear the tubes?

See the drop down menu on this website for the different types...

Ouch £38 delivery on top of £194

In that sort of price range you could go for the beachmaster removables at £170 then you just flip em up and they clear everything or you can remove them completely. Either way you dont have a trolley to walk back to the car and fold up to put away.

In truth you could just have fitted those transom wheels and used in the way where you took them off every time rather than swinging them up. Way less hassle and bulk to have in the car/garage than that trolley.

These are a very neat solution too that suit a smaller SIB...

So what is the difference?

I wish you luck with Zodiac and hope it's better than my experience with new ones....

One had a welded seam split on first inflation... the transom started to delaminate on its replacement after just a week on holiday so I got a full refund on that and bought a Honwave which was perfect.. and finally my current one came with an air floor to the wrong dimensions such that it didn't fit in the boat so they had to replace that!!

Just saying.

Hi

Was that the new models? and what model were they?

From my research i find the PVC is a special German engineering and a 5 year warranty is on the material and the seams..

Ive had 2 honwaves now and both are rubbish..We can see this by the pictures

Kind regards

Those affected...

2x Zodiac 360 air floor

1x Aerotec 380

Not saying Zodiac are bad but they have certainly had their moments.

I reckon you should pop down to see Terry at Excel... he'd sort you out.

Hi forum

The dealer who has sent me 2 reject boats out now is giving me a refund for the boat only and not the £45 carriage fee...Is this legal?

Kind regards
