Hi Ladies and Gents

Hi everyone, 1st time poster, long time lurker.
Managed to get myself a 4.3m sib, looking to get it up to speed and out around Yorkshire, somewhere between Whitby and Hull.
Still doing research on gear and best places but any and all links for starters info would be helpful.
Have a 10ft inflatable that got some use in Canada and a 10ft tender that's been on Ullswater a few times (no fish in Ullswater tbh)

Excel 430, I assume the 430 means it's 4.3m, haven't measured it yet, I may be wrong.
it's deflated, needs a clean and brightening up as the colour is faded, need to reattach the handles as the glue has come off, any ideas of the correct glue?
It's a project boat

I think Excel only did two sibs of that size, the 430 Volaire and the XHD 430. If you have a separate aluminium floor it's the XHD 430. Both are very heavy at around 90 kg and probably need to be on a trailer and not set up daily as a blow and go.

When you say the colour is faded, is it red? well was red but now orange! Not much you can do to bring the colour back.

Any quality 2 part pvc glue is suitable, this is what I use:-

Loads of "how to" videos on YouTube.

Perfect, I'll order some

I have lots of various 2 part epoxies but I wasn't sure if it needed to be specific.
It's the xhd 430, I'm collecting the trailer in a few days, slow and steady progress, and yes it's heavy, once the trailer is sorted, axles/bearings and the platform where the boat sits is redone it will be on there permanent. The bunks on the trailer are rotting/rotten
For the first few sessions I'll use the van

Take a look at Jeff's build thread, not the same sib but similar. You may pick up a few tips.

Hi and welcome to the forum from me too.

As glad fittings have fallen off I would just say have a really good attempt to pull/prise apart other glued seams of the boat to make sure the floor/transom etc are sound. If all OK you'll do no harm trying quite hard.

Do you have a motor in mind yet?

I have plans to give it a power wash over the weekend and then inflate to the correct psi and check for leaks etc though it was parked up for a good few years but had decent amount of air in it.
I have a 20hp that came with it, needs a ful service, any recommendations around Yorkshire? I can travel
On the bucket list is a fish finder (left mine in Canada and might not be able to get it for a Yr or so), some transom wheels, and an electric pump ( I have 2 hand/foot ones but would rather be fishing than pumping air
Have a trolling motor, jackets and leasure battery so the plans coming together

Sounds like you are getting well organised. Is the motor 2 or 4 stroke? Outboards of this size are quite easy to DIY service and there is huge understanding of most models on here to assist. Just a thought.

Just checked and its Mercury sea pro 25hp, It's not something I've done but I'm more than technically capable so I will/do it eventually, it's time constraints
If you have any links/resources that would be good, I can take it from there

If you give the year and 2 or 4 stroke we can help find service resources.
