Hi From Sunny Alderney.

Hello All,

New to the forum & ribbing, but have had hard boats for quite a while.
I bought a Bombard Explorer 6m with Honda 90 as an impulse buy!
Thankfully it's turned out to be great. Just completed a couple of trips to France, one to Cherbourg and next day to Dielette for the Bastille festivities.
Really pleased with the smooth ride, even through the overfalls at the top of the Race. Mind you I'm comparing it to a 21ft Orkney!
Looking forward to exploring more of France & the other Islands, especially Sark. Plus doing a few fishing trips too.

Welcome to rib.net, Tadpole.
Been down The Swinge yet in full flow?

Hi Brian,

Nope, not been pushing too much tide yet, I'm a great respecter of tide and use it to my advantage as much as possible. But I know what you mean about the Swinge, a nasty bit of water to be sure!
Our paths must have crossed in your time here, I'm the telecoms guy.
Interestingly I've just come back from a week in IOM, rigging on towers. Up Peel hill too!

Regards
Dick Smith

I know what you mean about the Orkney thing. I used to have a 23ft model with an inboard diesel which didn't half slam.

Welcome to Ribnet Dicky. I was wondering who Tadpole might be... all clear now. The swinge is easily tamed in a rib . I'm not up visiting mum and dad quite so often these days, but hope to see you out on the water at some point.

Well, b*****r me. What a coincidence. You didn't happen to spot a large-ish yellow diesel rib in Peel Marina as well did you?

Hi Brian, yep I'm sure I did.
Always looking at boats it seems.
Spent a few evenings enjoying a pint looking at the boats in Douglas marina.
Lovely & sunny for a change!
