forgot to mention the other area Bull Bay, but as already mentioned Traeth Bychan would be a good safe starter and seams to be sheltered when the rest of Anglesey is rough.

Sounds great, thank you. I am nearly there with safety kit, I have GPS, life jackets etc and buying a VHF tomorrow, booking on a course asap.

Sorry for the late reply (missed this post)

No license needed for the ribble

There are a few places about to launch; we used the jetty at Lytham a few times with an Avon SR4. There is a few boat yards as well, Freckleton is ok and Douglas marine (Hesketh bank).

We find most of the time you can get out on the tide as river is quite sheltered and there are plenty of places to explore.

Not yet mate, still waiting for the radio to arrive. Channel Ribs are having some delivery problems, been on order for three weeks.
