Hello - I'm only looking for a yacht tender... but nice to be here...

Hello, I am going to be rather a modest member but this is a most impressive place!

I'm here for advice...

I have a son in the Merchant Navy who is a keen RIB pilot - RYA powerboat, safety boat etc.But I'm just looking for something small and simple and bullet proof up to 3.1 metres LOA for use as a tender to a 38ft sailing boat. Over three decades of owning their dinghies and liferafts I grew to trust the Avon brand and so I'll probably look for something second hand with their name on it. Hypalon in any event due to heavy use. Either a SIB or the folding transom type RIB... or a very small (2.8?) RIB

... I think!

My eye has been caught by a rather unusual small RIB; fourteen feet long and narrow, with a rather fetching yellow hull. I think it is a Flatacraft Explorer.

It looks like it might go quite well in moderate seas with a smallish engine, which, since I’m looking for a yacht tender, would suit me very well.

I’d be most grateful for any information about these boats.
