Hello from the Isle of Wight

Hello, I am very new to this.

I am an owner of my first boat, a first generation 6.5 metre scorpion rib, which me and my family (wife and two children) love. It current,y has a 200hp petrol evinrude on the back

We are both club members and both have our pb2.

So far (got the rib in Aug) we have been exploring the mid Solent including : ryde, priory bay, cowes, river medina, gurnard, and Newtown. We have also been over to hamble, and next season hope to start exploring further a field.

Anyway, that me

Evening, just up the road from you and keep our RIB in Yarmouth, sounds like you've had a fun couple of months, we're on the water most weekends during the season and quite happy to meet up when your out. As well as enjoying the solent we do explore along the south coast and channel, got to have fun!

RIBase
One of the very exclusive 6.5m Scorpion owners.

What does it go like with 200hp?

It's really nice ... We are pleased with it, although the wife doesn't like the way the nose lifts on it, but if quick on to plane, it levels out just fine...

Had a few fun days out in the Solent just waiting for a nice flat day to see what see can do..

Also taken it out on a few rough days, and an really happy with the way it handles it.

Searider is asking as he has one of the (rare) 6.5's with a 150.

I imagine a 6.5 + 200 is a 50knt machine.

Nice to see some other scorpion owners on the water (my present boat is a 7.5 scorp).

We have been edging towards 50... Managed 40+ on a flat ish day. Still getting used to what it can do. I did see a few (very nice ) looking scorpions parked up on the entrance of Newtown about a month ago, was that any of yours ??
