Hello from Newport South Wales

Hi all

Not sure what to write here really. Grew up on the banks of the river Usk in Newport.
As a lad would go out on speed boats, and normal boats as did all the kids in the street with some of the guys who had boats. I’m not talking boat show stuff, I’m on about boats that although loved, couldn’t have been worth more than a few quid. Good times though when they let us on. I also spent many hours fishing on and off over the years sometimes from a boat.

55 now and always over the years have thought about having one from time to time. Not sure what a sib is suitable for from a safety point of view and therefore apologies for all the questions I will ask.

I am not a speed type of guy, more a 65 mph motorway guy. So safety first and a bit of fun.

So there we have it.

Cheers

Yep SIBs can do loads... in fact they usually have a far greater feeling of safety than any smallcraft of a given length.

Depends where you are planning to going as I’m sure you know the servern and surrounding area is the most tidal in the U.K. (Europe also) and has some very fast currents and expansive mud! Also some stunning coastline and great adventures, water gets nicer the further west you go, personally I launch from Porthcawl as it’s an easy drive, nice beach and sheltered bay.

Not been on the Usk but the Wye can be lovely
