Appreciate you taking large lumps of wood from the water, done it myself a few times, but doesn't the 'furniture' end up with rather a 'wet' look

There is always a good selection of weathered wood that washes up in Chapmans Pool, worth a look. You could get there by land or sea.

Cheers Guys, its amazing what you can find. I worked out that I save a large chunk on material this way and stupidly I pass it on : ) The purbecks is such a good place to have a hunt around. I'll have a dig around and see if I have any photos of the scavanged stuff, here's a link to the non driftwoodie stuff https://www.facebook.com/JoeHartDesigns (hope I don't get into trouble!) cheers joe

Im often in Chapmans Pool in the summer weekends having a snooze on the Rib or reading a book, I often swim ashore for a walk along the beach, if you send your mobile number via private message I can text you if I spot any decent items of driftwood washed up. The other place I would recomend but its a tad further is Lyme Regis if you head to the east from Lyme Regis past the newly constructed sea defences you get to an area that I think must have been some sort of rubbish dump many years back, as the cliffs have collapsed the beach area is littered with interesting scrap metal and old wood, bits of very old cars other junk and bits of decent aged wood, old tree trunks etc.
