RIBase
Hello from Boston area!

Just joined, glad to be here.
I have a brand new Zodiac Cadet 360 ALU RIB, and a Tohatsu 9.9 EFI motor, both on a trailer towed behind my family car.
Some pics of the break-in period in Merrimack River and Charles River in Boston at dusk. Planning more trips around Boston harbour and the ocean islands before the season ends here in New England.

Boat is hypalon, added an anchor guide to the bow, attachments for navigation lights and launch wheels. Trailer is adapted from a standard Stirling kit, with roller bunks and extended spine for towing.
P.S. Why are some of the images flipped - they appear OK in my pc.

Welcome and congrats on the purchase. Nice rig!

How does your 9.9 perform on that boat?

I do seem to get on the plane with half the throttle, 2 people, some bags, etc - have not measured speed yet, next time I go out will attempt. Also keeping it low for the break-in period

After putting 4 people on the RIB and gear for a beach day - it is clear I will need more than 9.9.hp to navigate 15-20knts Will be looking into Tohatsu upgrade for 20 hp using the ECU and air restrictor changes

Thanks for the feedback. I just bought a 9.5' zodiac with a 9.9 tohatsu. It's a heavy fiberglass hull at ~160lb and the 9.9 is gutless compared to my 9.9 2 stroke I had.
I already started looking at the ecu upgrades. It's around $1000 for the upgraded ecu. I don't think there are any other changes on the tohatsu.
Boats.net doesn't seem to have any in stock. I could only find some places on ebay and I have trouble trusting some of those ebay sites.

Yes there's also the inlet restrictor and gasket. See the other thread post #6. https://www.rib.net/forum/f36/20hp-t...lbs-87055.html

If Tohatsu parts are too expensive I'd check the price of Mercury/Mariner parts which are identical and might be cheaper (or dearer).
