Great buy, hopefully Biff will be along shortly with his knowledge of these. I think he has also helmed them prior to the 2012 events.

Sensational looking hard top - mine is undergoing big clean up with new canvas and bimini etc. The boat is great - but was pretty unimpressed with bill when I filled the tank up - £800!!

Need some tech support form anyone in the know.

As someone who would have loved one of these 2012 protectors - how are you finding it a year on?

Highly capable seagoing RIB. The basic boat was in quite good condition considering the year it was made and its history. The boat had new gearboxes (at only 800hrs!) which was important to me as the vessel had been used "stop / start" for most of its life - I am not sure many of the drivers would have used the crash gearboxes as sympathetically as they should. I have spent about £5000 on additions and electronics as well as improvements to the canopy. A really important addition has been a new (removable) bow roller (designed by Dick Long who has two boats) as the anchor line lead was very poor. Some pics "in the shed".

This boat will probably be for sale in March when I will be sailing off on another adventure.

Wow! I am not jealous in the slightest..... Its a completely different league to me, even your shed is way off mine!

This is something in my 'dreams' - One day I will own a RIB that I can sleep on, and I would never be home again!

If its coming up for sale would you accept.... Tesco Club Card vouchers, nectar points, body parts?

These RIBS have a big price reputation - but everyone is aware that LOCOG sold these ones pretty cheaply by comparison - a 9m Ribeye / Scorpion is in fact more expensive. (and quicker!)
