Greetings from South Carolina

Hello everyone , brand new to the site. My wife and i will be visiting St John USVI for the first time in July and if we like it as much as we think we will we would like to have some permenant water transportation in the islands. I know what you are thinking , why not just rent one when you get there. I'm the kind of person who likes to have his own equipment so i have no limitations on time and distance. We have looked at some of the RIB's here in Charleston and we think a 15ft with a 70hp would suit our needs nicely , is that a good size to do some island hopping to beaches and snorkel ? any info would help. Thanks

Planning on shipping it? Going to be pricey. Moreso if you're shipping both directions.

p.s. Welcome to the forum.

15ft with a 70hp sounds OK, but will likely be expensive to ship there and back from S. Carolina.

How about this?

Welcome. Seems like a costly thing to do if your just visiting. Ive been to st johns a few times in my youth its a lovely island, more chilled than some islands around that part. Im sure you would love it. I did infact hire a boat but that was a long time ago. I guess type of boat would depend on what you want to do and when you want to use it considering various weather issues.

The water around St John can be choppy. I would go for a larger one, somewhere between 18-20 feet
