Bit rude of me!

I was a bit rude last week when I jumped in half way through a thread posted by Pumpkinking without introducing myself first! Sorry about that.
Well here goes!
New'ish to any craft with an engine (apart from an old Avon about 35 years ago for a brief period) kayaking, windsurfing and dinghy sailing (Lasers and Topaz) has been my thing the past but now I feel its time to be sociable with my family 😊 and it will give me more of a excuse to get out on the water.
I've been stalking the forums and gleaning as much info as I can and now feel I'm in a position to take the plunge.
I've narrowed the sib down to 2, well maybe 2,5 and I think the OB down to 1 - 15hp Tohatsu 4s, which I think will cover most of what I want to do and where I want to do it.
Hopefully going to sort things out this week.
Hope the maiden voyage went well Pumpkinking.

I never noticed tbh, and I’m very sensitive & easily offended.

Sounds like i'm in a similar position to you Steve in getting kit together.

Additional to what you've already mentioned;

I've bought an electric pump to inflate the boat and plan to get a spare starter cord for the outboard, a temporary repair kit for the tubes, basic tool kit, spare pins for the propeller, spark plugs, first aid kit, a few items of safety gear yet to be decided and possibly other stuff that I've not yet thought about.

I'm possibly going over the top and imagine that there are plenty of people zipping about with none of the above, I want to be as sure as possible that I can carry out minor repairs if necessary rather than have to pack up and that I'm able to summon help if needed.

My late Dad's words have become embedded, 'Any fool can be uncomfortable' he used to say and, despite my insistence when i was a teenager that he was a boring old fart, he wasn't but I most certainly am as my children will confirm.
