Been about

Hi all. I am based in Romford Essex, often launch on the Thames nr to Greenwich. Been using boats for years. Looking to do a few longer trips such as the Red Sands Forts from Greewich. Also wander round the Wight, launching from somewhere south. Othe possible trips being thought about.
Interested to know if anyone uses the Thames or have excursion plans in the thought stages.

Hi,

I’ve been thinking of a trip up the Thames to red sands forts at some point in the new year.

I spend quite a bit of time on the Solent and round the Isle of Wight, happy to share some thoughts.

On Jan 5th there is a run over to Yarmouth IOW for lunch at a pub. A few of us have already booked up.

How far are you from Clacton? Gunfleet boat club is excellent and possible to get to shivering sands and red sands as well as Zealand and Harwich

Not sure when we will do the forts.... but it will happen in 2020. We are also going to go round the wight for something to do. I used to dive in that area many years ago.
Looking for other trips too.

Hiya Roy , I lived in Hornchurch for many years and the Thames was my nearest water.......

http://www.rib.net/forum/f16/on-any-sunday-44335.html

If you enjoy ribbing in the South East , you will love it from the Solent westwards , adore it in the West ( Pembrokeshire was a regular haunt for me ) and " die " for it off the west coast of Scotland.

My advice to you would be to join any organised cruise by reasonably experienced local RIBnetters . Regards Bern

Here you go Roy.............

http://www.rib.net/forum/f18/easdale...0-a-82826.html

You'll need a " well found " vessel , a trailer in first class nick ( bearings , brakes & tyres ) and a week off work .

I guarantee that it will open your eyes to a whole new world of ribbing . Buddy up with two or three similar sized ribs . Regards Bern
