Firstly thanks for all the advice and allowing lurkers.
I have now bought my inflatable money pit.
After much searching I have an Excel SD330 and I'm happy with it. Provides the mix of quality and price that I was searching for.
Using a 2 litre stirrup pump that only inflated on one stroke about killed me off. Took me 30 minutes and it probably still needed more pressure.
After reading on here I ordered a Bravo BST HP from rib shop that arrived today (their last one!).
Its the dogs but how do you get the pipe and the wires back in the handbag?
Now looking for a suitable engine at the right price of course!
