A very interesting rib cruise however the distance from Gibraltar to the Azores
is 980Nm / 1815km / 1128 miles (they will of course have to avoid Gibraltar)

How will they manage with the fuel once they are out in the open Atlantic. I can't see any fuel stations on route.

I am sure they have a plan . Best of luck to them and no doubt it will be interesting to follow their progress.

There is a local law not permitting ribs over 6 mtr in Gibraltar waters so theirs could get confiscated and that would be a tragedy

Ah! I didn't know that, sounds odd.

Its to stop the drug runners. I'd have thought there was a way to arrange a permitted trip - but I don't know.

From the look of their site they are planning to head round and "up" towards Lisbon and cross from there which is a slightly shorter passage.
