Maciek, the good weather for us is tomorrow and next week. As for later who knows but for sure not the kind of weather you are now enjoying in Greece.

One of the last trip/walk. Within 2 days we start return trip.
Forcast for today was 5 BF for wind. Not the problem for our RIB.
It was only hard part between marina and nearest island.

She is sad because I pick up HER from crystal Ionian Sea and put onto the Grass near my house

Last days in Greece I have discovered that big waves (for me) she can manage at speed 40-45 km/h and middle-low trim very well (no jumping at all just cross crest of waves).

So we could go for last trip even during 5BF wind. It was only 1km far away island but to avoid waves on starboard we went 2km against waves and more than 2 with waves to be covered by island

There is really small marina here:

And many places to anchor boat and swim:

Full moon at ferry:

Stop at Ancona:

Drive slowly via Greece mountains because of:

Boat and Family were really happy in Greece. Now boat is sad staying on the grass and kids missed Greece also. They have still more than month vacation and perspective to plan on smartphones every day

I have to find solution to be more than 2 months in Greece. Maybe long time rental period. I saw some offers for that in Kalamata (700-1000 EUR per month if period be longer than 2 months for big apartment)

Or maybe small business with Greek people (like RIB rentals)

Great trip Maciej and fab photos. I thought I did well with 5 weeks but 8 must be unbelievable. Hope your dream of even longer works out but based on what I know from others ,,,, don't even think about making a business in Greece ! ;-)

Thanks for warning.

I have plan B also.

From sometimes to sometimes I have contracts to make some computer programs and I need only WiFi for that and can work on any place in the Earth.

So will try to have contract for next vacation and stay at Greece and make money at the same time Plus will try to find accommodation for reasonable price for such long period

Mat,

I have a (very) small rib of 3.10 mtr with a deep v. Do you think it's possible to do the same as you have done with this rib?

If there's no wind, probably without any trouble, but I know there can be strong winds in Greece.

You have to avoid summer months Jun, July, August.

I think that September be optimum, warm but not hot, less wind, warm water.

In 2014 we went to Greece with SIB Honwave 3,8m air-floor and HONDA BF20.
Kids were smaller and we survive. Below picture from south Crete Lissos:

In all places in Greece waves were from the open Sea so they were significant.
We used below mentioned anchor (2x5kg)

But it was not enough and once we have been grounded:

Wave put (gently) boat and us on the middle of the beach ...
SIB was keeping on anchor and rope to stone on the beach, we swam around. A few big waves did come and one of it lift boat up (including anchor) and very gentle put boat on the beach. Lend lord had to go and bring us SIB wheels (starting from this moment I always used these wheels in Greece)

And longest trip was about 37 km and it was not enough for distances in Greece:

So we returned with RIB to the same places again and made some boat trips like 150 km and more.

With SIB and small RIB I would suggest to go to Croatia (Murter island).
Wind is mostly from continent and waves are mostly small near coast.
Please check my thread about Croatia. I like both (prefer Greece - much warmer Sea and air temp, cheaper food in restaurants) but easier conditions for boating are in Croatia
