Windproof Jacket

What does everyone wear when SIBING?

I was fishing on the solent in the week and the wind was strong and it was freezing even though the sun was shining.

Looking for a cheapish windproof waterproof jacket.

Any ideas?

Get yourself one of these , they are waterproof and windproof I have been in the water wearing mine and it still did not let any water inside .

Great piece of kit for the money.

Try one of these, Typhoon Jacket - Amur Hooded Smock Paddling / Sailing / Boating / canoe | eBay

If you'll fit in a small or medium, it's a very good price.

Kayak smocks will keep you dry but many are not breathable, so you could end up drenched with sweat.

Try something like this as an alternative...

I wear the breathable Peak storm pants, with built in socks;

With a pair of Palm neoprene boots;

And a Typhoon Jacket - Amur Hooded Smock;

I got the Jacket rather than a Cag because of the hood.

with trousers, jumper and socks underneath.

About £200 all in, which is equal to a decent Wetsuit or a cheap Drysuit.

I like the hooded cag

I got a pair of these salopettes from Decathlon last year and paid a tenner more than now advertised very comfortable and hard wearing and does exactly what it says on the tin come with a 2 year guarantee as well

I keep a couple of Tyvek suits onboard incase we ever run into ugly, wet, windy conditions. They are super cheap, waterproof, and pack small. May not be for you, but it is a thought...

Otherwise I just wear a drysuit and stay toasty warm.

I also have one of those Decathlon jobbies. Wear it over a wetsuit on dull breezy summer days, waterproof/ breathable, cheap and a couple of useful pockets, what's not to like.
Resort to a drysuit when really cold though.
