TrueKit Discovery 400

Super stoked to acquire this virtually as new two year old TrueKit Discovery 400 addition to our Cat fleet. Initially saw this on Facebook Rib & Sib Boats For Sale but also noticed it on EBay at the same price with free delivery, so took a punt buying unseen. Bought from Storm Marine (Hayling Island) who’d taken it in as part exchange against one of their ribs. Amazing value for a two year old virtually unused boat at less than 25% cost of new today. Delivered in person by the owner of Storm Marine to boot….now that’s service.

To be honest didn’t know much about Storm Ribs apart from them being new to the scene. Interestingly they buy in the aluminium hulls bare from a company affiliated with Highfield, so China presumably, but the CSM hypalon tubes are made and fitted at Henshaws UK and come complete with a six year warranty. I think the motors are rigged and fitted by Powertech Marine.

Anyway back to the Discovery. Hopefully will be in a position to do a full report in a month or so when we get back up north.

Very smart looking cat chipko. Is it an aluminium transom? Take it you'll be running your 20hp on it.

Thanks Steve, and yes aluminium transom.
Initially at least will be using the Yam 15 and occasionally the Tohatsu 9.8. These days our Mariner 20 stays on the Ocean Runner mini rib….too heavy to manhandle now.

Yes that does look the business. A better upturn at the bow than some of the budget models, you’ll really be able to catch some air with that.

Looks a cracker, looking forward to your report.
I watch an Aussie guy Rokkit kit on you tube who fishes off one and it looks capable.
