Transformer Futura

The zodiac is usually set up like this.

Great for blasting around, surf runs, wakeboarding and taking three to poach on concerts by the bay (a comfortable folding chair fits in the front nicely for the show). But wifey wants to take a couple of friends. So I had to be creative to supply two full seats upfront. I built another bench top that is longer. Places my console out over the tube. Not good for speed, but just fine for the slow No Wake run to the concert.

The boat handles the weight out over the tube surprisingly well. The zodiac reverts to original format after the concert tonight. Hmmm, What's next for my transformer?

I think it should turn into a large, man-eating dragon or something...

Personally, I just throw a 96 qt icechest in there with a couple of towels as padding. It's not like I'm going to sit up there...

Thanks for the pics.

"It's not like I'm going to sit up there..." So true.

Sure would like to make a frame and a shaped cover so I could do the fire breathing dragon thing for the Christmas parade of lights. Wonder what the Fire Marshall and the Harbor Police would think? Got propane?

Seem to recall a replica of a Viking ship that had a dragon figurehead that breathed fire generated by (I assume) propane. Pretty cool looking.

Ahhh, The infamous suspension tractor seats. Purchased off E-Bay. Don't know what they cost online now, ran around $60 a piece when I found them on sale. Definitely not all stainless. I have replaced all the fasteners with stainless. I wire brush the rusty spots every year and spray paint them again. They have held up well. The ultimate ride for those too cheap to buy real marine suspension seating. Kind of heavy. I removed the sliding adjuster base and built some aluminum brackets. That helped cut down the weight a lot. Might be a bit much for the smaller zodiac. With the arms on the seat backs they are pretty wide.
