Torn between Honwave T35AE and T40AE

If you were buying new which would you get for general Sibbing. Generally only me and Her indoors

I would quite like to hear from people who have these or even have had both

Gilly

Thanks for that info. I have a 9.8 Tohatsu and was wondering how easily the boat get on the plane with your 9.9 and 2 people. I am quite big and her indoors is small

I've got 3.5ae.
It's plenty big for 2 people - mostly used it with me and my mate for sea fishing.
It's a heavy brute - the 4.0ae will be even heavier.
Mine's is permanently trailered for ease of use.

Mine will be kept on a trailer also unless I travel a long way. I have a 9.8 Tohatsu 2 stroke do you think that will push it along ok with 2 up. What engine do you have

How did yours perform on the Scottish adventure

I've had the 3.5AE and found it very roomy for two plus dog plus small teen.... and super stable with that heavy floor low down. Mine was well made and thoughtfully specd such as outer grab handles front & rear, inner front grab handles and lifting handles inside the rear cones so you could carry it easily from that posn with a helper carrying the bow. Better than many Zodiacs with just two rear grab handles. Liked the heavy duty transom and seat/s too.

I did find its weight and broad shape absorbed engine power more than any other SIB I've owned.

Our 15hp Mariner 2-stroke was only just enough for the performance I wanted (not top speed just ability to snap on the plane without a long bow up wait plus cope with a load).

I'd actually say they are more suited to a 20hp.

Just my experience.

I've got a T40 with the ally floor and it's a very heavy old beast if you're manhandling it alone. Just dragged it down to Cornwall and back though and it was great fun with the kids and grand kids on board.

I'd get the 3.5 if there's just the 2 of you, i.e. you.
