Taking Sib to South of France

If we wanted to take or T38 in the boot of the car to the south of France with our 20hp outboard (I have my ICC by the way but not necessary for below 30 hp I think) can we just rock up and use it or are there a whole lot of rules we would have to abide by

Anyone ever done this

Dennis

Thanks for the links so is simple terms for a blow up SIB carried in the car boot you wood need as a min

VAT receipt for the boat
VAT receipt for engine
Insurance docs
SSR Registration (good idea)
ICC if you have one (but not necessary)
Radio Offcom licence
Radio licence for user
Red ensign

Hopefully you would carry all this and no one would ever stop you but if you did get stopped you would have a good amount to offer up

I think these threads and the list of stuff could put some people off but many people who actually do this report never getting hassle

When I took my 6m RIB (so couldn't really hide it in the boot) to France, UK customs were reasonably interested only in my SSR document - they took it somewhere for 10 minutes. They've not checked anything else, they've not checked the boat either.
I had to show proof of insurance to the camping ground people and that was it - no other documents were taken out of the document wallet.

Campsite we used in Port Grimaud was fantastic, stayed in the home next to the jetty.

That was Holiday Marina Resort. Nice jetty on the river. The slipway is on the other side of D559 - campsite staff will give directions.
