Just increasing knowledge as I haven’t a sib yet.
Just looking at morse steering helm.
How do they work? Sprung gearbox?

Most steering systems work with a Bowden cable — like a bicycle brake cable: a strong inner wire that slides in both directions inside an outer sheath.
