Some newbie help please... Outboards.

Hi all,

Really looking forward to the new found interest in boating... I've found a reasonably priced Zodiac 13ft, but am going to need an outboard. I'll be needing something between 30 and 50HP. Trouble is, eBay prices seem quite prohibitive - I really don't have much to spend (check the occupation ).

So, my question is - does anyone have an outboard for sale? It can be completely on it's last legs... anything.

Thanks for your help.

Tom

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOHATSU-40HP-O...3%3A6|294%3A50

40hp 2 stroke Tohatsu - current price £250 and just over 1 day left.

It's a longshaft though - don't know if that's suitable for your boat but it shows there are such engines out there.

Also try www.adtrader.co.uk

Oh and try to get a 2 stroke if you can - much cheaper and lighter in that size.

Oh check boatsandoutboards as well.

I ran a long shaft and a short shaft (not at the same time) on a Zodiac I had and didn't notice any great difference.
I was skint at the time so whatever I had got put on!
