Sika Flex 291 Long Open Time ( LOT )

Anyone have experience using this product.

Specifically how well does it hold up on PVC , and Transoms.

I managed to squeeze about half a standard tube into the voids between the tubes, hull and transom. Resealed all hardware screws, drains for possible points of water entry.

Seems like a solid product so far.

It's generally my sealant of choice. Whilst it does work as an adhesive, it isn't as strong as Sika 292.

It's not UV resistant so exposure to the sun will cause it to fail over time.

The prep of the surfaces you are sealing / bonding is key to its success.

I was recommended it to seal when drilling transom wheels. When I used it, initially I thought it smelt/ looked like mastic with another label. It set rock hard though and some stuck on my fingers, I pretty much had to scrape my skin off to get it off. Definitely different to bathroom mastic!

Same here. A Zodiac dealer told me where to get it and how to use it.
