I followed in Donny's footsteps and went to Loch Hourn after he went with a kayak group.

My trip wasn't as successful, but from what I saw it was beautiful and I shall definitely return.

Totally off topic but do you use the sand / snow pegs on the beach?

Just used the ordinary pegs & buried them. I looped the guy ropes through the string loop on the peg so I didn’t lose them in the sand.

Yup, getting silly money. I paid around £800 for the Tarra about 6 years ago. They’re over £1400 now.

Wow crazy I looked at a new cover sheet for the akto and it was nearly the price of the tent so just got a repair done instead

Would the hilleberg have kept you any dryer or warmer than the Vango you had last weekend?

A mate of mine still has & uses, a vintage Vango force10. The first tent I ever camped in as a school boy. I’m willing to bet good money that non of today’s tents will still be around in 50 years time.

Hi The Gurnard. Would you please tell me whether the first photo of a Quicksilver on a beach (in your 'wee update") is the 4.2 metre? Thank you.

Hello. Do you think the Quicksilver Aluminium Hull 420 would be a better buy than the Highfield classic 380. If Highfield did the 420 would that be better. Thanks

Bigger is generally better if you are using a trailer. Donny goes everywhere with his quicksilver 4.2

Yes, Donny invited me out for the day in his boat so I could see what it's like before I buy. It moves through the water a lot better than my Honwave T38 IE3 and a lot more comfortable ride. I had a great time out with Donny and he give me a lot of good information. The 420 is the size I'm after. Just wondering if Highfield do a 420 too. Thanks
