Plymouth and the river Tamar Tamar in Devon on my honwave

Some calm weather and great scenery. Most marinas were full but managed to get in one for a few days

Hi Essex.
Looks like you had a good run out if you got up to Calstock.
It’s a favourite area for me, with plenty to see. How did you get on with a 6 hp outboard with the tides? The ebb tide in the lower reaches can be quite strong. I’ve not tried it since I changed from grp boat with 30 Hp to a Takacat with 6!
I have used Queen Anne’s Battery to launch, but there is plenty of choice. Did you get into the Lynher River or out of the Sound to Newton Ferrers/ Noss Mayo? Both are worth a visit
Your pics have made me want to get back there!

Hi,

I went to Rame Head but didn't get as far as Ross. I've got a 9.8hp now but I am sure my 6 would of been fine with the tides with just me

Glad you enjoyed it. It’s very interesting if the Navy are around, as long as you keep out of their way!
