Oregon 400t gps

Just been looking at an Oregon 400t hand held gps,would it be any good in a sib?

I've not seen one, but so long as the screen is readable in sunlight then it should be OK. You need the Garmin Bluecharts for it to be any use - they will be £££ to buy - are they preloaded on the unit you see?

I have the Montana which we use for hiking /geocaching & I've installed the Bluechart on it as a boat back up. Not sure about the screen size on the Oregon, but it would be better than nothing if it all went Pete Tong. Drop me a PM if you want to discuss Bluecharts, I may be able to help

Thank you both for your replies,I have now bought one ,preloaded with uk and Ireland marine charts,looks handy,hope its ok .
