New sib - tow car.

Just sold my Honda CRV 2.2 CDTI and replaced it with a VW Tiguan 2.0TD.
Honda was OK but I didn't particularly rate the engine and gear box.
VW engine is a lot sweeter and it's road manners are provinv to bemuch better than the CRV thus far.

Anyone use a Tiguan for launch / recovery of SIB from shingle and sandy beaches?
Just wondering how it stacks up.
It can tow 2.2 tonne which is mind boggling for a SUV of its size.
I'm hope it will be up to the job as from reports it is also better off road than the CRV.
CRV needed to be backed up and given a few attempts on occasion to get me over sand and shingle banks.
I'll keep a rope handy just in case.
Was going to go for Touareg but it is a bit too thirsty.
Tiguan more than upto pulling my 1400kg caravan also so happy days.
