In a big swell they're fantastic, but so are most things when it's a smooth swell. In chop they can be uncomfortable but so would any other 4m boat. I'd say they're more comfortable than any other 4m boat or jetski, definitely a softer ride and their width makes them fairly stable even in choppy conditions.

As you say they race them in the surf and offshore so the hulls can handle it no problem. You want some cushions on the deck, all the new hulls come with them stuck onto the floor as standard.

Don't think I've got any photos of mine in the rough but we get fairly changable conditions here in the Hebrides, one of the main reasons I like the thundercat over other boats, if you do get caught out in rough conditions you can make it home even if you need to go slowly. Just keep some weight up the front if it gets rough to stop the bow lifting

First Thundercat outing of the year, Easdale Rib Rendezvous. Absolutely fantastic event, weather not brilliant but still great fun. Over 60 RIBs all together, the Thundercat being the smallest there. Choppy crossing from Easdale to Mull on the saturday, then a shorter run on the Sunday through the Grey Dogs and Corryvreckan.

Thundercat ran absolutely faultlessly all weekend, very happy! Still waiting on the new boat, a few issues with welding the TPU so may resort to gluing.

From where I was getting soaked and shook up in a 7.5m RIB Rolfhat ..

I would say your cat handles a rough sea exceptionally well

Now you have some photos of your boat in a bit of a chop.

I dont think Im exagerating by saying some of those pyramid shaped waves in the tide race were six feet tall .. minimum

Here is the Delta RIB that was just in front of you and it wasnt going any faster through it than you were

It was a pleasure watching you and your crew in action

Incredible performance from your boat and more so from the crew. Excellent seeing small boats do so well

Cheers, a bit uncomfortable in that sort of chop but then it is in any RIB. Very impressed with my girlfriend, only her second time in a Thundercat and she's not put off yet! Good weight for Coniston too...

Heck I thought your girlfriend was a seasoned Zapcatter Cudos to her for that trip.

Had to give up on making a Polyurethane thundercat, Jacques at Ceasar did try but they couldn't weld it. So tried gluing but it kept coming unstuck. Shame but was still worth trying, nothing ventured nothing gained.
Have pulled the trigger on a new Mako thundercat. The shape of the blue and red boat in this photo but the colours from the grey one. Deck sits nice and deep at the bow a bit like my old Ceasar F10, so hopefully it sits nice and stable at high speed.
Still got the Ceasar F11 on order too, so will be selling one of the boats

Looks like fun, just come back from Lewis, had a great couple of hours on a Seatrek Rib. Some big swell, bet you get some right "air" out there.

Maybe, 29th of May the 3 hour trip with an island stopover. Like the bucket step for landing on the island, good idea. Not needed for my Sib though or your cat.

Was actually quite fresh South Easterly just found a nice sheltered spot.
Had a truly incredible experience yesterday, first basking shark in 8 years and I happened to be in the thundercat

My new mako is almost finished -

Seriously minimalist, ropes on the tubes are only where the pilot and copilot sit, no handles in front of the nose cone. Even the copilot rope is removable for speed runes

Haven't updated the thread in a while, had a lot of boating this summer. Did a weekend down at Scarp and Mealesta Island with the old Ceasar and the yellow boat
