Mercury Adventure 365 xs loose seat

Hello Sibbers!

I own a 2016 Mercury Adventure 365 xs powered by a Mercury F20M. A very fun combination and I really love this boat.

This is the third SIB I own. In 2008 I started with an Quicksilver 310 Adventure and in 2012 I bought an Suzumar 290 alu floor. Both great small sibs.

I just inflated the 365 for the new season and I noticed how loose the front seat is. I can pop him in and out with great ease. I can remember that mounting the seat after inflating the two smaller sibs I owned before was almost impossible.

The rear seat is not this loose, but I don’t use this one and the mounting belts (don’t know the right name) are a bit stretched after using the boat a year.

Is this normal on this size Mercury sibs? I am afraid that is will lose the seat one day…

Thanks for reading!
Best regards,
Bas

hi i have a mercury 365 HD and the seat is very difficult to fit when the boat is pumped up if you look at the two plastic clips that hold the seat in the strapps you will see that the screw holes have slots so you can push the clips in or out to make it tighter.

Thank you for the quick response. Odd that it is such a big difference for the same boats (the 365 xs and HD only have a different color and paddles).

I already tried to push in the clips a little but it makes not a lot of difference. Also I am afraid to stretch the mountingbelts even more.

what you could do is the same as i have done, i drilled the plastic bracket and fitted a loop of strong string with a plastic pipe [flexible] on it so to make a handle for each side of the seat the reason so i can move the seat when afloat without letting the tubes down. so thread the loop down through the strapp on the tube that way it will stop the seat jumping out because the plastic pipe will be trapped below the strapp. if that makes sense

if not i will take some pics later today to show you what i have.

hope these help

as i said the loops help me pull the seat into place but would work for you to prevent it jumping out.

Thank you for the pictures. Nice solution! Gives me soms ideas how to secure the seat.

Is the seat necessary for strength of the tubes when boating?

No mate it's purely there as a seat to be honest I like to sit on the tube removing the seat gives much more room.
You could use bungee cord looped over the seat through the strapp back on to the seat as an option too.
