At todays exchange rate it would work out to £1110 if you bought from Poland, a saving of £285.
Its a good saving providing you don't have any problems or warranty claims which entail sending it back to Poland.

Thank you richxlt. I had a look at that over the weekend. And at the exchange rate I got it to 1057.18. Definitely a saving, but not so much as buying direct from the Ukraine if that was possible. At least if I bought from boatworld I’d be coveted by a U.K. warranty and laws so for the sake of saving £300 I’d rather buy from boatworld. If I was able to save £700 from buying from the Ukraine then that would be a different matter.

Oldman2. Would I be right in saying that the Elling needs a short shaft outboard? And would I need any packers on the transome for it ?

Yep short shaft, because my Suzuki is old and strange its clearance to the sausage keel wasnt good so I had to pack the transom mounting back by 20mm. If I need to jack the engine out any then I will have plenty of clearance.
If you buy something like others here have for instance 9.9 Tohatsu 4 stroke then bags of clearance & nothing to worry about.

Thanks for that oldman2
As I’ll be buying a new 9.8 2 stroke I’ve read that I have to run the engine in, ive seen some digital tachometers that you just wrap a lead around the spark plug lead, would one of those be of any use to me? And if so which one should I go for without having to drill into the casing.

I bought this one, cheap n cheerful but does the job and if it fails after a yr its no cost really. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07RXQRXFR/
You can always find a path for the small sensing wire from spark plug lead to outside the cover.
I put velcro on my hood & it and secure it with that so I can remove it easy when need be. Its also a position where I can see its output while sitting a distance away from the tiller arm where I see others have it fitted.
I just looked and no photo's exist of mine, very remiss of me.

That’s very similar to the one I looked at with a green background display. Yes, it’s nice and cheap and if it don’t last long then not too much to get a new one.
