Curses...

Chucked it up on Ebay and sold within hours with guy due to travel 100mls to collect later today.

Stupidly moved it single handed down the side of the house ready for him to see it and scuffed the underside of one tube on our knuckle grazing sharp brickwork. Just enough to cause a tiny leak... enough to micro bubble but no hiss.

Best laid plans and all that...

>>>forever home...

Daughter being an animal charity worker we are very familiar with that phrase!

And in their terms I've just fostered this SIB.

To be fair, if that's all it took to compromise the tube, the material might be getting a bit tired.

>>> if that's all it took to compromise the tube

You aint seen our bricks.... they should have failed a health and safety test for use in a domestic environment. Number of times I've taken the top off my knuckles wheeling a heavy barrow down the passageway.

But you are half right... this small underside area had been scraped before but I'd leak tested and it was fine before... I just finished it off.

One of the standard patches will make a decent enough job for a £100ish SIB.

No they are a mid 1980s brick faced with an abrasive pattern that would strip 100 years of old paint off timber in one pass.

Oh well it's gone now to a happy guy who intends to use it in the way I'd planned... to go down the river to the pub. He's sorting out a small elec outboard for it and already has the glue on order for the patch.
