There's no real reason you cant put a console in, but it'll be a fairly costly excercise by the time you've bought steering,the steering link, controls, control cables and a console.
If you're planning on deflating it though, it'll make it a pain in the neck.

It's going to cost you at least 200 quid for a console. Then you'll need to buy the fittings for it (Steering wheel, helm unit, cable, link bar), Then you'll need a remote control box (£100-200 depending on finding one 2nd hand) then 2 cables at 20 quid upwards each.
You might be lucky and find all it as a secondhand package though.
