has anyone seen this boat?

hi all if anyone has seen this boat in st austell bay area i'd appreciate any info. after being rescued from silvermine beach on saturday i was lucky enough to get a ride back to where i'd abandoned it with kernow buoy today and everything was gone.
the boat could well have drifted away but the outboard-a mercury 7.5 blueband- surely wouldnt have
i also lost a sentimental fishing rod belonging to my dad that has a cork handle, and a 12l orange fuel tank
thanks

Don't forget to declare it to the police - if it's found on ebay you'll need the crime number.

Good heavens, can you not leave anything these days without it getting nicked? Almost as soon as you put anything down and turn your back it's bloody gone.

In Kefalonia this June I left my VHF radio on the local harbour one evening, there were kids playing and people walking around, I realised later but couldn't go back until the morning. It was still there the next morning, sat on the stone wall for all to see.

It might well have been nicked, it might be in France too! Sadly the day after DJ was taken off the beach we had easterly gales (onshore) for about 48 hours, as we saw yesterday at high tide on a calm day the sea nearly completely covers the beach, the local coastwatch station feared it might have been washed out into the bay, would have hoped to see some sign of it though

I feel for you , having had two boats stolen....

I assume you have spokne to the CG - if anyone finds it floating they could be unaware its yours, call the CG just to be safe ( tenders tend to float of biggerboats if they sink) ....

If the CG know it could be out there you 'might' get it back .

Or some thieving low life has it in his garage ....start watching ebay and going to boat jumbles .....you never know..its a pretty recognisable boat..

Yes we had to abandon a tornado sailing cat in the thames estury once (informed CG of course... we were in the middle!!).

Fishing trawler picked it up, delivered it back and were over the moon with our "donation" to their beer fund.

Most amazingly, being found 20hrs after we left it floating, it was within a mile of where we abandonded it.

Losing an inflatable is always unfortunate, these days worldwide you cannot leave anything floating , it not the Somale pirates other passeby thieves will be tempted to take it away and much faster if counting with an engine. It's easy ill gotten floating money.

Know of thieves stealing anchored inflatables that were left unattended while divers were diving deep, just to fin that their inflatable were gone once on surface, besides a very bad day, meant water trouble too.

I've forwarded details to Fowey Deputy Harbour Master in case they come by any news of it and will do likewise to Environment Agency and Cornwall Inshore Fisheries Conservation Authority, MMO and local Boatwatches. I'll also keep a lookout when I get back from leave. Have you old the Old Bill? Phone 101. Hope you get lucky.

Regards.

Jesus, that looks bad,but can 't help thinking ,guys you gotta know your limitations in these type of craft, reading from the story ,one day is flat calm ,good to launch and to presume another day will be the same, madness, sorry has to be said.

I’ve never stolen a thing in ,y life. But to play devil’s advocate…

Most people are completely unaware of how costly these inflatables and small outboards are. If someone happened upon your boat floating unattended, they could have very well thought it was abandoned, and took it. A crime of opportunity.
