Engine for Avon S310 Sportboat?

I have bought an oldish Avon S310 Sportboat SIB with a wooden floor - and can't find info on what size engine to use or what the maximum load is. I want to be able to get on the plane with a fairly heavy load of equipment on board. Can't find a spec sheet anywhere. Can anyone help?

A 15 HP short tail will be fine, if 2 strokes available the better, 10 kilo less compared to same 4 strokes model. If bit more power is needed, go for a Tohatsu 18 HP.

It I think may have evolved into this:

http://www.avon-workboats.com/page/erb

In which case you're talking in the ballpark of 10Hp.

Having said that, the numbers on the scan here http://rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=32256 hint it's more likely related to the Current "heavy duty workboat" http://www.avon-workboats.com/page/w400, in which case it may take more.

Maybe if matt reads this he might have the rest of the brochure with the smaller hulls' info to hand.

Thanks guys. Great stuff. I wonder if Matt H has a picture of the Sportboat 310 (if he's still on the forum)? The data for the Sportboat S340 suggests the 310 will take 15-18hp, whereas as m chappelow says, the current 310 seems to have 10hp as a maximum. I do like the idea of the 18hp Tohatsu. :-)
Cheers

If it can handle a 10 HP, that is a 9.9 will also handle a 15 HP 2 strokes as both engines weights same and have 250 CC each. Tohatsu 4 strokes is another story, 9.8 has 210 CC-37 Kg compared to 350 CC-52 Kg for the 15 model. 15 model has same weight and CC as 20 model, so check transom specs for max engine for Sportboat 310 sib.
