Decathlon electric pump

I picked up an air floor sib recently so I bought a 12 volt pump from decathlon for £40 as quickly got fed of pumping up the floor.
Just to say I think the pump is great. Goes to 15psi and it's quick. Nice LCD display and it's nice and compact. Not sure what advantages the much more expensive bravo ones have over this ?

Anyone just in case anyone is considering buying one I'd say it's a great value (assuming it lasts!)

That's interesting Duggie. For this year I will probably buy a new pump to replace my digital HP Bravo which is fine for LP and about halfway to HP for the Aerotec floor... but fails to reach max pressure slowing and cutting out early.

The Bravo difference is that it has a quiet turbine stage 1 inflator that does all the filling... then the HP side cuts in to finally bring to pressure.

I have the option to keep it as-is and use the footpump to top off... or I could buy what you have and take both... using the Bravo to do the first fill... or to buy another Bravo.

So my 3rd Bravo (manual dial - high pressure) has just packed up. I'm down to a Rule fan based affair and a Quicksilver hand pump. TBH, it only takes a relatively few pumps to reach useful pressures.

EDIT: I will NEVER buy another Bravo.

Have to qualify what I said above... *as far as I know* the Bravo is the only UK supplied pump that's dual stage *and* where the first LP stage has a good capacity output meant for SIBs.

I say this as researching last night I find there are quite a few pumps inflatable SUP pumps available and in the USA I found a dual stage one.

For me the jury's out still. I've just checked and my Bravo has lasted 7yrs so given it has some residual Ebay value (with both LP & HP pumps working but a sensor glitch I assume that cuts it out before full HP). At the price paid its cost works out at £10/yr and I'm happy with that for the benefit.

Mrs F just said get another Bravo because they're quick and convenient.... but I'm undecided.

Duggie can you confirm... does your Itiwit pump have the single stage pump that "rattles" rather than whines as it pumps?

Rattles the whole time fenlander (i think). I'm trying it again layer so I'll double check.
If the only difference is that the bravo is a bit quicker then that's quite a bit extra to pay for the privilege (all other things being equal). Guess it depends how much you use it.
I had a bravo and found I was always faffing about trying to get it in the bag with the hose. I prefer the decathlon set up (minor point I suppose). My bravo also packed in after a couple of years.

Yeah definte rattle from start up. It is quite slow to do the whole boat but I'm always doing other bits and pieces when the boat is inflating do it doesn't really bother me

Thanks Duggie. All adds to the info for me overthinking what is quite a simple part of sibbing!

Thank you Fenlander, I too have Bravo pump number 2 which has started to cut out early too, around £110 a year cost for me! I have a backup manual pump, but no gauge, is there a cheap gauge I can use with the manual pump so I don't under or overinflate it, for the Bombard Aerotec 380 (when I eventually get back on the water with it or a new one and my new 11" prop that arrived today, apparently the 10" is incorrect for my Mercury 25HP).

FR what are you using to power the pump? Did you see my thread that the cutting out with mine was 100% the battery at fault??

This is the cheapest gauge that will go straight on the end of your pump hose...

Edit: But oops it doesn't go to high enough pressure.... sorry.

I had to buy one last year and purchased as Zodiac Z67061. That came as a 1 bar (I've just checked gauge and invoice) but as a matter of interest was Bravo branded.

So this might be your one but I'd double check with any supplier that the one they supply would really be 1 bar.
