Bristol docks

Have used this location a couple of times to try out new equipment and set ups in the past and have not found anywhere to stop and tie up for a pint or lunch, does anyone know the locations to have a break.
I like the venue for things to see for a few hours but a stoppping point would be good for a break.

Hello stubber

Where are you launching from , you are either not exsploring or have blinkers on . Beesey tea and beer garden is a nice one if you go out of the docks and up the river.

Hi Dave,
I have launched from the marina slip and the public slip close to the harbour masters office and pottering around the docks it's hard to see where you can tie up, haven't been out onto the river Avon, can you recommend somewhere to launch on the river between Bristol and Bath.
Andy

Hi Andy like i said in previous , Beeseys tea and beer gardens are out of the docks to the river avon . In the docks you have the cottage which when lauching from bristol marina go left 2 minns travel . The water front lots of choice , all i can say is do a little exploring there are metal ladders at certain places .

Edit : saltford is good for launching lock key is reqiured at bath and can be purchased from bristol boats around £15 .

I have a 4m honwave do you know how much it is to launch in Bristol marina slip
I go out in Weston bay which is quite good to see the old pier and go round sand point also why not try sharpness to Gloucester canal was nice but only six knots speed limit and with my honwave it fits under all the swing bridges just

Bristol docks

Yes I'm planning to do Glos to Sharpness, only problem is there is only the Marina at Saul Junction or the canoe pontoon at Pirton unless you know where to launch on the bank, let me know if you do launch on bank and where, what's it like at Weston to launch and how many hours do you get tide wise

Hi

It's around £10 for your size boat

That's where I launched at Saul the guy was really helpful and takes about a hour & half to get to Gloucester docks but you need a canal license
At Weston it's really easy to launch off of knightstone slip way it's about £40 a year or you can pay per visit I used to go off the beach but got told off by the beach ranger you can normally do 2hrs either side of high tide and my boat seems to have plenty enough power for out in the bay
Where else do you go what boat and engine do you have

I have an Achilles 11 foot sib and an Avon 341 sib, have just sold a Quicksilver 340 air deck and don't know if i'm going to regret this with the 2 I have being solid floor sib's, time will tell, have a few outboards, tohatsu 3.5, mariner 15 and an old evinrude 35 which I thought about trying on the back of the Avon if i'm brave enough.
Usually on the Severn or Dart or Torbay, depends on what i have on work wise etc, had a look at launch site on the Avon yesterday for the future for a potter about, still want to do the Sharpness canal on a sunny day as its close so relatively easy

Usually go from public slip near Steamer key in Totnes as it's easy for parking, probably 2.5 hrs either side of tide but don't quote me on that, and slip is muddy when tide out

At Weston this weekend it air days so going out in bay should be good watching the planes without crowds

so try and avoid Dartmouth as it's hectic, usually go to Tuckenhay or Dittisham or have a poorly around Galmpton creek
